Bria Harper is a Ph.D. student in the Department of English at Michigan State University. She holds in a MA in Women’s Studies and a BA in English and African American Studies. Her research includes studying the intricacies of the relationship between silence, respectability, joy, and storytelling in the ways that Black girls and women discuss their lived experiences.
